Why I photograph
I describe my work with a line from the American photographer Aaron Siskind:
“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
I absolutely love being able to capture special moments with my clients. Let me capture all your precious moments in life, from family shoots to maternity shoots to anniversary shoots, and everything in between.
My style: natural, bright and airy
My style of photography is very natural. I want my clients to enjoy every moment, just relax and have fun. For weddings, my style is led by the personality of each couple and by the theme of the day, and I love a bright and airy look.
The pageboys' plan
Two pageboys in braces and bow ties lean in from either side to kiss the flower girl's cheeks, and she smiles straight at my lens. The hydrangeas and clipped hedge behind them turn soft, and her gold sequins catch the daylight.

Laughing in black and white
Mum and dad lean in and laugh with their baby girl, who clutches a toy ring and wears a bow headband. In black and white the bright sky and bare branches become a clean, pale backdrop, and the three faces carry the frame.

A glance to the side
A matriculant in a pale blue gown with floral beading looks off to one side, hands loosely clasped. I kept the focus shallow, so the metal sculptures and columns of the atrium behind her melt into soft shapes.

I photograph weddings and engagements, and the couple shoots that go with them. For families I offer relaxed family and lifestyle sessions outdoors or at home, and I photograph bumps at maternity shoots and brand-new babies at newborn sessions. Matric dances, birthdays and company functions fall under my event photography, and I also take headshots and personal branding photos, and I photograph dishes and drinks for restaurants as a food photographer. An hour-long family, maternity or baby session with me costs R950, my wedding packages start from R6,500, and I quote everything else for your booking.

For this personal branding portrait she sat on a low step, chin resting on one hand, with a warm, open smile. Her dark blouse against the pale, blurred path behind keeps every bit of attention on her face.

Home for me is Somerset West, with Strand and Gordon's Bay down the road; my Somerset West and Helderberg sessions have their own page. I travel across the Cape Town metro, and further out to Stellenbosch, Paarl and Durbanville, where a R500 travel fee applies. There is no studio: I come to you, outdoors or at home. Little man in grey
A toddler in grey dungarees stops on a path and looks off to one side, mid-thought. I photographed him from his own eye level, so the greens and lilacs of the garden fall away softly behind him.

No. I work on location only, so we meet wherever suits the photos: outdoors, at your home or at your workplace.
